Milestone 1: Data structure, project modules and reading loop.

Previous activities

1.  Project requirements

Resources

  • Description of the project. More precisely sections about the customer requirements, company requirements, project milestones, and source of inspiration.

  • Project folder. There is a local copy here.

Work Plan

  1. Download in your personal workspace a copy of the shared directory where you will be working in the project. Optionally, you may create a subversion repository to store all information.

  2. Read carefully the selected sections from the project description.

  3. Write a document with the questions about unclear aspects of the project description. Divide them into categories. They must be as detailed as possible because you will share them with the rest of the team.

  4. Write a first draft with the data structures and possible operations with them that you think you might need. It is not necessary to write their definition in C, but an informal description that captures the most relevant aspects. Write the proposal such that it can be easily understood by your teammates.

  5. Call a meeting with your team to share these two documents. The objective of this meeting is two fold. On one hand, comment the doubts from each member and reach a consensus, if needed, about a post (or office visit) with the doubts that remain to be answered. The second objective is to create a team data structure proposal to be presented to the tutor in the next lab session. Try to maintain the duration under one hour.

Do not forget to name meeting moderator and minute taker and upload the minutes to the Minutes folder.
